Sal Mineo Shops for Smut Who Killed Teddy Bear and Times Square 1965 Vintage Sleaze

A decade before Taxi Driver showed Times Square near the end of the era we are interested in,  the obscure WHO KILLED TEDDY BEAR starred one of the THE actors of his generation Sal Mineo as a troubled disco busboy with some serious psycho- sexual problems.  Needless to say, this is a seldom seen film worth seeing.

Off Youtube for years, I see someone has now posted the entire film.  Watch as Sal haunts the deuce browsing precisely the artifacts covered on the Vintage Sleaze blog.

The film also features Juliet Prowse as a tormented young woman, Elaine Stritch and Jan Murray as a vice cop who loves his research a little too much.

A dark, gripping flick perfectly tailored for a revival here on Vintage Sleaze, with timeless shots of period bookshops and strip joints….not to mention the incredible shots of homo-erotic Sal working out his frustration.  Must See.
