Burmel Catalog of Theatrical and Masquerade Material THE RARE DIGEST SERIES #33 Vintage Sleaze
This entry in The Rare Digests Series #33 is actually a catalog, but since Lenny Burtman and his partner Ben Himmel intended it to be sold as published smut as much as offering any legitimate product, we can add it to the series.
Adorned with an Eric Stanton drawing on the cover (she left off one of the boots, not an easy thing to forget as it almost reaches her hips) while inside Lenny's regular stable of models display the handmade leather goods. Even more interesting are the "fashion" drawings by Stanton's buddy Gene Bilbrew. The clothing was certainly not stocked on racks behind a clerk…any orders, if there WERE any, were more to reach potential magazine customers than sell them garb, and I suspect virtually none were made. There is no order blank. This was not mailed out like a circular, it was purchased either by mail or as likely from a Times Square bookshop.
As with most of Lenny's EARLY publications, there was no nudity. The model on the reverse even has crude brassiere drawn over her chest...whips apparently being legal but breasts not.
The fashion catalogs continued after Lenny got in some trouble, but under new ownership and the company name of Kaysey.
