Since Bob here would be some 107 years old now (and I don't remember a weatherman wishing him happy birthday on a morning show) I am going to guess Mr. X here passed away and I am safe posting his mug shot. Which he earned FOR SHOWING STAG FILMS! Our skunk-hair stout fellow with a sailor's tattoo was a motion picture projectionist by trade, but apparently he was working overtime. Lewd and Indecent overtime! I'm not posting his full name so some people searching out great grand dad don't happen upon his "little mistake" back in 1953.
1953...Hmmm. Despite the common misunderstanding that "Deep Throat" broke the smut barrier, there was an earlier smoker which made it big...and 1953 was the year it caught fire. "Smart Alec" was the stag, and it was screened on many a sheet hung from the ceiling and against gas station walls. Smart Alec featured the not quite adult yet Candy Barr (who I have profiled before) and it was quite a sensation. It is likely the most famous stag film ever made and it is fair to say it screened in Minneapolis. Though the film was made in 1951, it took a while to open wide...so to speak. Let's say it opened slow but spread. No one knows who made it for sure, but a fictionalized version I have read comes close.
Of course I am not at all sure the film Big Bob was screening here was the famous Candy Barr flick...but if he was, the fellows (one of whom is mentioned here) got what they paid for. Assuming there was a charge...somehow Bob here looks like the kind of guy who would let anyone in free.
